The Old Cable Historic House is a Designated Milestone Heritage Site tracing its origins to The First Transatlantic Telegraph Cable from Ireland to the USA in 1866. A halfway stopping point on the Ring of Kerry, the guesthouse is 5-minutes’ walk from Waterville beach. At the house guests can experience the remarkable story of this defining moment in Ireland's and technological history. With views of the ocean and the surrounding countryside this charming guesthouse offers bright, spacious rooms with Wi-Fi. Free parking is also available. The Kerry Dark Sky Reserve surrounds Old Cable House and is considered one of the best places in the world due to its pristine dark skies and lack of light pollution.
